How to Buy ?  - A Simple Process

So how do you go about placing an order and booking in a time slot.....

It could not be easier really - a simple 6 step process.

Step 1:  Just simply make contact with me and register your interest.

You can email me on:  gelhurd@gmail.com

You can call me on:  07786 933007

You can WhatsApp me on:  07786 933007

We will be able to discuss the process in a bit more detail and I can give you an idea of timescales.  This does vary with the seasons and I find that pre-Christmas I tend to get fully booked up towards the end of October.

Step 2:  The picture(s)

The image(s) I work from have to be the ones that you love the most.  However, it is absolutely essential I have a high resolution image of the subject (preferably more than one).  My ability to capture the eyes, the expression, the personality, and the nuances of the fur are directly related to the images I work from.  This is so important to the quality of my work, and your satisfaction with the result, that I will not accept a commission if the images are not of sufficient quality.

That said,  you will see from my portfolio I can work with lots of different types of picture.  I do prefer digital images as they are brilliant for being able to zoom in for detail - but I can also work from physical photos for recreating older memories.

You can see my guidelines for photographs by clicking HERE.

Step 3:  Placing the order and booking in

Once we have agreed the image which I will use to create the artwork, the next step is to place the order and agree the timescale.

I do require a 50% non-refundable deposit to be paid at this time.  This can be paid either by bank transfer or I can send you an PayPal invoice that can be paid by card (or by PayPal).

Step 4:  Initial approval (if required)

I am happy to send an initial outline sketch (preferably electronically) for you to approve.  This gives you some degree of certainty regarding the artwork you will finally receive.  I am also happy to send you a couple of progress update images as the artwork develops.

To be honest, I think the greatest impact of my artwork comes from seeing the completed picture for the very first time - as a complete surprise.  It is often a tear jerking moment.  But it is entirely up to you.

Step 5:  Final Payment and dispatch

I provide a  basic frame free of charge.

The final balance is payable prior to my sending out the final image.  I will send the artwork out framed ( as this provides a degree of additional protection) in protective packagings, by a tracked mail service.

Step 6:  Feedback

If it is possible I would like you to video or photograph the opening of the package I send out.  I would be grateful if you could share it with me.  I wont use it on my website - as it is a bit too personal, but it really helps me understand how my work is being received.
